"Friends" of Ashley Heath

Ashley Heath Animal Centre first opened in 1966 to shelter stray and unwanted dogs and cats. Horses, goats, poultry, numerous other small animals and birds were cared foe until new homes could be found for them. Today the centre is licensed for 84 cats, 72 dogs and has a brand new miscellaneous building which houses rabbits, rats, gerbils and birds etc. The Centre takes in animals from the inspectorate and members of the public from Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire.

Friends of Ashley Heath raise funds for projects not covered by normal running costs provided by the RSPCA national society.
Since the rebuild of the Ashley Heath Centre, friends have provides equipment including toys for the animals, a safe enclosed dog run, horse training area, wildlife pens for the recovery aid of foxes, badgers and deer, two bird release aviaries, fitted out cat unit and our latest project - an electric buggy.
